In 2023, pension funds generated a positive net return on investments of CHF 54 billion, after a loss of CHF 105 billion in the previous year. The value fluctuation reserves increased to CHF 94 billion (CHF 65 billion in the previous year). However, this was still considerably less than the CHF 145 billion seen in 2021.
