Most people travelling from a Swiss airport in 2025 – 78% of them ‒ were heading to a destination in Europe. A further 9% flew to Asia, 8% to North, Central or South America, 5% to Africa and 0.4% to Oceania. 84% of travellers reached their destination on a direct flight, while 16% had one or more transfers.
The figures include all departing local passengers at Swiss airports, meaning passengers who checked in at a Swiss airport, including foreign travellers on their return journey. Passengers who only transferred at a Swiss airport but began their journey elsewhere (transfer passengers) are not included.
