In 2020, a total of 3426 tractive vehicles were available for use on the Swiss rail network. Of these, 2469 were electric and the rest mostly diesel-fuelled. In 2020, Switzerland’s aerial cableway systems numbered a total of 38 052 vehicles. These include cabins of reversible cableways and cabins or chairs of circulating cableways.
