Gender pay gap continues to narrow

Neuchâtel, 07.03.2017 (FSO) - In 2014 approximately two out of three jobs paying a gross monthly wage of less than CHF 4000 for full-time employment were held by women. According to the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) wage inequality between men and women in the private sector is continuing to decline gradually. In 2010, women earned 23.6% less than men. In 2014 this figure had fallen to 19.5%. In the private sector 39.1% of the pay gap between men and women remains unexplained.
