18.11.2024 - Secondary sector production rose by 3.3% in 3rd quarter 2024 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Turnover rose by 5.5%. This is shown by provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
In comparison with the previous year, industrial production grew in July by 10.8%, while in August it fell by 0.4% and in September by 0.9%. For the whole of 3rd quarter 2024, production increased by 3.5% in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier.
Construction production increased by 2.1% in 3rd quarter 2024 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Production declined by 3.6% in building, whereas civil engineering registered an increase (+11.8%). Lastly, specialised construction activities registered an increase in production of 3.7%.
Turnover
Industrial turnover rose in July by 11.7% in comparison with the previous year. It also rose in August (+4.5%) and September (+0.7%). For the whole of 3rd quarter 2024, in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier, turnover increased by 5.7%.
Construction turnover rose by 4.7% in 3rd quarter 2024 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Turnover rose by 2.9% in building, while civil engineering registered an increase of 16.8% and specialised construction activities of 4.2%.
