14.08.2025 - The Producer and Import Price Index fell in July 2025 by 0.2% compared with the previous month, reaching 106.2 points (December 2020 = 100). Prices fell in particular for watches and medical and dental instruments and supplies. In contrast, petroleum, natural gas and petroleum products saw higher prices. Compared with July 2024, the price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products fell by 0.9%. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
Falling prices were recorded compared with the previous month in the Producer Price Index, particularly for watches. Medical and dental instruments and supplies, metal products and electronic components and boards also became cheaper. On the other hand, prices for petroleum products rose.
Petroleum, natural gas and petroleum products in particular were responsible for the increase in the Import Price Index compared with June 2025. In contrast, medical and dental instruments and supplies, green coffee and metal products became cheaper, as did furniture, citrus fruits, food products, vegetables, melons and potatoes.
