Over a period of two years (2024-2025), around 1,000 data suppliers will be gradually connected to new processes. Both old and modernised data formats will be processed – the modernised formats will often be incomplete in the first year. The FSO will compensate for this with weightings and at the same time introduce methodological improvements. During this transition phase, the results may be affected and should be interpreted with caution. In some cantons and municipalities, the effects of modernisation may obscure real developments. In the canton of Ticino, the number of social assistance cases in 2024 is around 200 too high due to the first-time delivery of data for the modernised social assistance statistics.
