Ratio S80/S20

Ratio S80/S20
The S80/S20 ratio compares, within a given population, the sum of the equivalent disposable incomes of the richest 20% with the sum of the equivalent disposable incomes of the poorest 20%. The higher the ratio, the more unequal the distribution of income between these two population groups. A ratio of 4.0, for example, means that the income of the most privileged individuals is on average four times higher than that of the most disadvantaged individuals. It should be noted that the "super rich" are not covered in the statistical surveys by sample, unlike very rich households. The maximum annual income of the households surveyed in the SILC amounts to several million francs.
