The marital status of a person which is registered in the civil register or based on a court decision. We distinguish between eight different marital status: (1) single; (2) married; (3) widowed; (4) divorced; (5) unmarried (this may be the result of a declaration of invalidity of a previous union or a declaration of disappearance of the previous partner); (6) registered partnership (since 1st January 2007); (7) dissolved partnership (since 1st January 2007); (9) without indication.
