In the first quarter 2026, the number of employed persons in Switzerland rose by 0.2% year-on-year. The unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) rose from 4.7% to 5.2% in Switzerland, whereas in the EU it fell from 6.2% to 6.1%.
