Feeling of security

This indicator provides information on the feeling of security, in other words not feeling threatened by physical violence or crime in everyday life in Switzerland. 

From an integration perspective, an increase in the percentage of people feeling safe indicates an improved situation.

Key findings: The percentage of people feeling safe does not vary significantly by migration status.

Trends over time: Between 2015 and 2022, the percentage of people feeling safe increased across all the population groups studied.

Since 2023, the share of people feeling safe has decreased in both populations, with and without a migration background. 

Major regions: In no major region does the population without a migration background feel significantly safer than the population with a migration background.
