15.06.2026 - The Producer and Import Price Index fell in May 2026 by 0.4% compared with the previous month, reaching 100.1 points (December 2025 = 100). In particular, pharmaceutical products, petroleum and natural gas and electricity saw lower prices. Plastic products, in contrast, became more expensive. Compared with May 2025, prices for the whole range of domestic and imported products fell by 1.8%. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

Falling prices were recorded compared with the previous month in the Producer Price Index, particularly for pharmaceutical products and electricity (for large consumers). However, higher prices were seen for other chemical products, plastic products, and basic metals and semi-finished metal products.

Lower prices compared with April 2026 were recorded in the Import Price Index, particularly for petroleum and natural gas, pharmaceutical preparations and petroleum products. Prices also fell for organic products of the chemical industry, other chemical products and green coffee. In contrast, prices increased for plastics in primary forms, plastic products, basic metals and semi-finished metal products, computers, and wiring and wiring devices.
