Over 100 indicators, grouped according to topic, provide a first-ever comprehensive picture of sustainable development in Switzerland, painted from an economic, societal and ecological standpoint. Basing themselves on these indicators, three journalists present their analysis and appraisal of sustainable development in Switzerland, in what constitutes the first genuine use of the indicator system. Their contributions are followed by brief statements from experts, who share their concerns regarding sustainable development and gauge the possibilities and limitations of the current monitoring system.
