Swiss Health Survey 2022: overweight and obesity

21.11.2024 - In 2022, overweight affected 31% of the Swiss resident population aged 15 or over and obesity 12%. There were different rates of overweight and obesity in different population groups, and prevalence was greater among men than women. People with obesity or overweight were more likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases, diabetes or other chronic illnesses. People with obesity also suffered more frequently from severe symptoms of depression. These are some of the results from the publication on overweight and obesity by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
